The choices:
Dave Peterson art works.

Most of the paintings or photography in this presentation are reproductions of originals by Dave Peterson a.k.a. D Glenn Peterson.
All reproductions are produced personally by Dave in his studio .... not by an outside source such as a print publisher.

The Master or original painting: This painting is the first or original piece all others are patterned after. Often Dave uses many different methods to develop the master. Click for detail. It may be an oil painting or a watercolor and it may be enhanced with numerous mixed media such as pencil or even crayon. In most cases an "original" may have extensive digital work involved.

Image sizes: Each description states the size of the master. Other smaller or larger but proportionate sizes are offered to allow clients a better
selection to fit their needs. The sizes vary from subject to subject based on the requirements for reduction from the original. Click for more.

Edition quantity limitations:
When we indicate a certain quantity as an edition this does not mean there will be that many produced! It only indicates the maximum number of images. Each print is made as ordered so there may only be a few sold from an edition. Though signed editions are not numbered they are closed with the number listed next to each image in the site

Signing:
Signing may be initials, the last name Peterson or the full name Dave Peterson. Some pre 2004 prints may be signed D Glenn Peterson.
With numerous subjects, especially canvas, Dave does not sign the image face because he feels this distracts from the subject. In this case the image will be signed on the border or back.

Painted Reproductions:

These are canvas prints that have been repainted with oils and are nearly an exact duplicate of the master. There is no set number as a reproduction level however there will be few due to the extended time required for the painting. Each edition painting is hand signed on the face and numbered on the back. Click for more information.

Media:
Most watercolor prints are printed on 100% cotton acid free archival handmade watercolor paper that is 140 pound.
Most oil paintings and many abstracts are printed on canvas unless specified you want them on paper. The canvas is of archive standards and resists sagging. It has a medium fine weave.
Periodically we use specialty papers.

Nomex: A high grade fibrous archive paper that has a slight off white parchment look. This Dupont/Nomex® based media meets the requirements of most local U.S. Fire Marshal and International regulations including UL Flammability Standard 094 and NFPA 701. It is also rip, fray and crease resistant.
Pearl: The paper is pearlecent and allows the inks to reflect hues. It has a satin finish and linen texture.

All prints are personally printed in studio by D Glenn Peterson with the Giclee process. Tthe surfaces have been UV treated which would increase this life by 30% to 50%. These standards equal or exceed other printing processes and are considered museum or archival quality.

Open Release:
These are subjects that are not numbered or in any form of limited quantity. The release may include use of the image in numerous formats such as prints, decorative plates, screen savers, publications or gift items. For those who invest in art it is of benefit to have open edition works available to the general public. The more people who display a certain image the more recognition develops for an artist which builds the demand and value of special works such as original paintings and limited editions.

Every painting may be released within another category whether it is or is not stated as such in this presentation or a disclosure.
